DESCRIPTION:Don’t forget to save your electronics from the landfill! Or start your spring cleaning at the end of May in preparation fro the E-Waste Event! June 5th and 6th Kawerak Environmental will once again host the Electronic Waste Event to collect all used\, new or busted electronics. Does it have a cord? Does it take batteries? Is it a talking toy? All these count as electronics! \nWe collect these items to properly recycle them outside of Nome and keep them out of the landfill where they produce toxic waste that gets into our environment. This makes a huge difference for our world! Bring in your goods to drop off anytime 10am-4pm in the parking lot across from Kawerak for FREE (noncommercial\, or $.50 per pound commercial) and we will take it from there. If you don’t want to wait or won’t be available that weekend\, drop your items in the recycling connex next to Airport Pizza and across the road from Bonanza/Quality Auto. \nFor more information call us at 443-4249 or email environment@kawerak.org. \n
