DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the annual MMIWG event sponsored by the Village of Solomon\, and supported by Kawerak and Norton Sound Health Corporation. \nSunday May 5th\, 2024 \nat the Nome Recreation Center  (6th Avenue)\n12 pm – 4 pm \n \nPre-Walk Activities (12-1pm at the Nome Recreation Center) \n\nSign making\nHand out sweatshirts for walk\nFace painting\n\nWalk/March through Nome (start @1pm at City Hall) \n\nROUTE – Meet at City Hall parking lot on the corner of Front Street and Division (1pm). Travel down Front Street to Bering Street out on the Nome Teller Highway to Greg Kruschek Bypass Road. Stop at Nome Police Department. Turn on Alaska Gold’s Access Road behind Recreation Center and end at Recreation Center.\n\n \nGathering (Approximately 1:45/2pm start at Recreation Center) \n\nRefreshments\, light potluck\, speakers begin.\nVillage of Solomon President Kirsten Timbers\nPayne Lindsey – Up and Vanished podcast\nIngrid Goodyear & Cordelia Kelly comments\nEskimo dancing\nShort Film “One of Our Own” Premiere\nPresentation by Deilah on preventative measures\nQuyanna!
