Announcing Employee of the Year –

Darlene Trigg!

Each month Kawerak takes the time to recognize our employees who go above and beyond in their work.  Many staff members are nominated and some won the employee of the quarter awards.  Each of these individuals are exceptional in the way they serve our community and make Kawerak a great place to work.  These employees are people who have taken pride in their work, have taken initiative to go beyond their job, contribute to a positive work environment, and surpasses everyone’s expectations.  Each one is deserving of the recognition they have received for winning employee of the month.  It is from this pool of amazing individuals that our staff have the opportunity to vote for the employee of year.  This year the employee of the year is Darlene Trigg.

Her nomination for Employee of the Quarter read:

“I don’t know all of her duties in detail, but I know that Darlene Trigg has gone over and above what is normally asked of a person in her position, since the time COVID-19 shut down the Kawerak offices. From what I know, Darlene has had to figure out the correct shut down procedures for all of our bldgs. including village-based facilities, come up with reopening plans, determine who was eligible for what kind of working status, attend tons of meetings, hire new staff to help, come up with new cleaning procedures, and more covid-related stuff. All this in addition to her normal work as the head of HR helping us with things like trainings, evaluations, personnel issues, job descriptions and hiring, etc. I honestly can’t even imagine all of the things Darlene has had to do but she does them with grace and dignity and without batting an eye. It’s really nice having someone we can rely on in times like these.”

Darlene has won a plaque, a certificate good for two Alaska Airlines saver tickets (50,000 miles) and a check for $250.00.  Congratulations Darlene and thank you for all you do to serve our staff.
