Safety Sound Cleanup!
The Kawerak Marine Debris Cleanup Project is officially underway! Our first cleanup is scheduled for August 2nd and we will be working in Safety Sound. We would love for community volunteers to join us in these efforts to remove debris from the area.
Our crew will be focused on large, hard to reach items in the sound, but we are also wanting to support camps in the area with cleanup of their land as well! Mark the date on your calendar and stay tuned for more information as we get closer to clean date.
The cleanup effort will have bags and equipment available to help detangle debris and contain debris, as well as drop spots to put trash for pickup. Meet us at the NSHC Camp Nook at mile 20 at 10am for safety briefing, or stop by anytime until 4pm to grab supplies or ask questions. See you then!
