Free Virtual 2-Day Artists Workshops
Arts Entrepreneurship: Pricing + Marketing + Artist Calendar

Kawerak in partnership with First Peoples Fund is pleased to announce that we will be hosting two free 2-day virtual workshops via Zoom on April 23 – 24 from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm (AKST).
These Virtual Native Artist Professional Development workshops will teach emerging and seasoned Native artists how to navigate the arts industry and be successful entrepreneurs. The topics covered are Pricing + Marketing + Artist Calendar. Artists will learn how to price their work, plan an artist calendar, and market their artwork. Trainers will be available for Q&A’s during the last thirty minutes of the training.
Marjorie Kunaq Tahbone and Roxanne Best will be the instructors. Marjorie Kunaqu Tahbone (Iñupiaq, Kiowa) is a mixed media artist, regalia/fashion designer, and traditional Inuit tattooist from Nome, Alaska, and a First Peoples Fund 2021 Artists in Business Leadership Fellow. Roxanne Best (Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation) is a portrait and branding photographer, business consultant, and First Peoples Fund 2021 Cultural Capital Fellow.
