To residents of the Bering Strait Region:

We hope you all have been enjoying the warm summer weather we have had so far! We want to announce that the access road leading to Pilgrim Hot Springs will be unlocked and opened starting Friday, June 24th.

Pilgrim Hot Springs will have the following hours of operation for summer season:

Open 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. for day pass visitors.
Closed on Tuesdays.

(The pool and property will be reserved for overnight guests only after 10:00 p.m.)

This summer, Unaatuq will charge an entrance fee* of $10 per person, per visit. Locals of the Bering Strait Region will get a discounted rate of $5 per person. Kids 5 and under, and seniors 65+ may enter free. All guests will need to sign a visitor permit upon entry or pay in advance and agree to the terms and conditions. *Visitors to the cemetery only, paying overnight guests, or helicopter charters will not need to pay an entrance fee. Entrance fees will help Unaatuq to pay our staff, expand agriculture efforts, and continue to improve site safety and access for the public, we hope you understand!

Fees may be paid in advance with credit card on our website: https://www.pilgrimhotsprings.com/permits

Or you may pay in cash upon arrival to Pilgrim Hot Springs with the onsite caretaker.

As of right now, we plan to have the grounds open on June 24 to day pass visitors.
Starting July 1, the campsites and cabins will be available, depending on staffing and availability.

Camping fees and overnight lodging rates, as well as booking information, can be found on our website:

For group bookings, please call 907-443-4278 or email pilgrim@kawerak.org

The Pilgrim Hot Springs Access Road is a remote gravel road built on permafrost, and is prone to potholes, flooding, and frost heave. We ask all guests to drive with caution. Using the Pilgrim Hot Springs Road is at your own risk. Unaatuq will work on road repairs throughout the season.

Later in the summer season we hope to create a trail map for guests who wish to walk to the site rather than drive down from the main road. Keep an eye out on our social media pages for further updates!

The site may not be accessed by boat from the river unless obtaining both a permit from Unaatuq as well as from Mary’s Igloo Native Corporation.
Please contact the MINC office at 907-642-2308 or email: migloonativecorp@gmail.com

As a reminder to all guests, please follow recommended CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19 and respect the distance of other visitors. We are a dog friendly property, however, please have your dog on a leash at all times when onsite. Dog tie-out poles are provided near the main bathing area for your convenience.

We look forward to seeing you at Pilgrim Hot Springs this summer. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram for continued updates @pilgrimhotsprings.
