We are pleased to announce our award winners for Employees of the Quarter and Team of the Quarter for Quarter 2, April – June 2022!

Employees of the Quarter

Crystal Outwater – Program Coordinator/Admin Assistant with EESS (at the time of nomination)

“Crystal went above and beyond by processing over 77 Summer Youth Program Applications resulting in 15 youth starting employment in June 2022. The program this year supported the largest group since the pandemic began. Our department had staff vacancies, and without her assistance, we would not have had the capacity to support the program this year. Crystal’s desire to support participants and her attention to detail is the reason why the program was able to start on time and employ 30 youth in 2022. Thank you Crystal for making 2022 a success.”

-Kendra Takak, nominator

Cheryl Konahok – Head Start Cook, Gambell

“Cheryl does an outstanding job as a Head Start Cook in Gambell. She provides meals that meet the CACFP requirements as well as keeping her kitchen clean and sanitized. Sher orders supplies and checks her inventory and submits orders when needed. She works well with others and provided support for the Fuel/Driver maintenance and onboarding substitutes. She also tracks the fuel purchase and submits paperwork required. She is very thorough with her weekly and monthly paperwork and submits them in a timely manner. She is always willing and able to do additional tasks. She is wonderful to have as a coworker.”

-Lola Hannon, nominator

Team of the Quarter – Kawerak Tribal Affairs Staff

Cheri McConnell, Joleen Oleson, Arlene Charles, Jovan Dull

“I am very appreciative of these four who are courteous, helpful, prompt in responding and all the supportive services they provide to each village. Even if I repeat asking the same questions until I fully understand what needs to be done. I started in 2020 and they have been wonderful to work under. “

-Paula Myomick, nominator

“Always so helpful! They always make sure we have paid our taxes and that our Quickbooks are up to date. They are always there if we need help with anything. They are team players!”
