Federal land, or Native Allotments and Restricted Townsite Lots were deeded to Native Alaskans by the United States Department of the Interior. Kawerak, Inc., Land Management Services prepares a federal probate for this kind of land that any Bering Strait Region Tribe Member owned at the time of their passing.

The attached form is the “start” of filing a Death Report with the BIA. If the deceased owned a Native Allotment or Restricted Townsite Lot and was a tribe member of the Bering Strait Region, we will write a letter to the family to get the Federal Probate process started. Land will NOT be transferred to the potential Heirs unless we file our Federal Probate.
