On behalf of Kawerak, Inc. we are extending an invitation for workshop proposals for the 2018 Kawerak Regional Conference, November 6-8 in Nome, Alaska.

The theme, “United Voices for Our Future” was chosen by Kawerak staff to represent the interconnectedness of our people and tribes working together to create a strong, thriving, and positive future for the next generations. Please consider this theme as you develop your presentation. We also suggest that workshops be as interactive as possible. For example, consider including demonstrations, hands-on participation, group discussions and other engaging activities in your workshop, as applicable to your topic.

If selected to host a workshop, we encourage you to be available for networking as much as possible during the three days of the conference. It is important to the local organizers that our conference participants be able to communicate with presenters throughout this event.
To submit a proposal, please fill out the proposal form available at https://kawerak.org/krc/conference-presenters/

The deadline for submitting proposals is September 5, 2018.

All workshops will be reviewed for presenter qualifications and relevance to the theme by Kawerak staff and stakeholders before being added to the agenda. Due to limited space, we may not be able to accept all proposals. Applicants will be notified following the review process by September 15, and contacted to finalize their workshop agenda, list of materials, travel schedule, and arrange for lodging. (Please do not arrange your travel until your workshop has been confirmed.)

About the Kawerak 2018 Conference:

This year we gather around the theme: “United Voices for Our Future.” The regional conference presents an opportunity for regional leaders, youth, elders, tribal members and partners to come together to learn, share and inspire. During the three-day conference attendees will engage in educational workshops, collaborative conversations, as well as enjoy evening performances with family, friends and new connections from around the region and state.
