Kawerak received a grant to purchase, remodel, and add on to the childcare building. This is not only a needed adjustment, but it will allow us to serve more children!
In order to continue the Head Start and Childcare services we currently provide, we will be temporarily relocating to 306 West 5th Avenue in the Dawn of Life wing of the old hospital. Prior to the move, the facility will be inspected for health and safety, security measures will be installed, the space will have its own ventilation system, and an additional firewall protection will be in place. Additionally, to allow time and the ability to do this, April 19-30 Nome Head Start and Early Head Start center based services will be closed. Relocation dates are planned to be April 2018 to January 2019.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but the end goal will allow us to serve more children in higher quality space. If you have any questions or concerns, you can call the Head Start Director at 443-9050 between 8am-4pm
