Get ready, set, Drive! 2023 is your year to get licensed. Kawerak Short Term Regional Training Program has organized three sessions of Adult Drivers Education to assist adults with obtaining their standard drivers license.
Adult Driver’s Education in Nome
April 24-28, 2023
May 30-June 2, 2023
June 5-9, 2023
The intention of this training is to assist tribal members* living in the Bering Strait Region practice their skills in order to get their standard drivers license to secure employment. Participants must be over 18 and currently possess their remote or rural license. If you need help obtaining your remote/rural license, please reach out to us at 907-443-4391. *Tribal members of Nome Eskimo Community please reach out to NEC. If you are enrolled in a tribe outside the region but living in region, you are eligible.
Scholarships Available!
Since training takes place in Nome, travel scholarships to regional residents are available.
This course has been highly successful for residents and fills up quickly. Make sure you fill your application out completely and turn it in as soon as possible to be considered for the course. Participants must be eligible to pass a drug test and be physically capable.
