A special message from Kawerak Inc. President Melanie Bahnke:

On behalf of Kawerak, Inc., I denounce the actions taken upon our nation’s capital by domestic terrorists on Wednesday.  The actions that occurred were a violation of our nation’s core and what true patriots stand for – democracy, our Constitution, the freedom to elect our leadership, and the right to feel safe on our own homelands, especially in institutions that represent our country, such as the United States Capitol Building.  Alaska Natives and Native Americans have the highest participation in the military compared to any other ethnic group.  We have many veterans who have lost their lives defending our country and the freedom of its citizens, and many brothers and sisters currently serving to ensure our rights are protected.  Our children are watching what our nation does next, and I urge our nation’s leaders to ensure that justice is served for those who committed acts of sedition and treason, as fearlessly as we pursued justice for the terrorists responsible for 9/11.  Kawerak, Inc. is committed to defending the cultural, social, and political freedoms of our people and will continue to expose, condemn, and dismantle efforts that seek to diminish our freedom, justice, and liberties.

KAWERAK, INC.

Melanie Bahnke, President
